Lethbridge historical society 2024 walking tours

Summer Will Be Here Before We Know It And The LHS Has Prepared A List Of Summer Walking Tours. Note That While Most Of The Tours Are Free And Open To The Public, Some Are For LHS Members Only. Hope To See You All Out And About This Summer.

  • Labour History of Lethbridge: May 1, 6:30 pm, meet at corner of 2 Avenue and Scenic Drive South. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Horticultural History of Glendale-Dieppe: May 4, 10 am, meet at Demonstration Garden at Henderson Park (North Parkside Drive and 28 Street South). This tour is being offered as part of the annual Jane’s Walk. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Back Alleys of Lethbridge: May 4, 2 pm, meet at Festival Square at 6 Street South and 3 Avenue South. This tour is being offered as part of the annual Jane’s Walk. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Henderson Lake Tour: Sunday, June 9, 2 pm, meet at Gunnery Post (east end across from Exhibition Grounds). Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Bars & Taverns of Lethbridge Past: June 20. Members Only Exclusive Tour*
  • Warehouse District Tour: July 11, 7 pm, meet at 2 Avenue South and 13 Street South. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • 13 Street North Tour: July 25, 7 pm, meet at parking lot near Canadian Tire Gas Station on 13 Street North. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Hardieville Tour: August 1, 7 pm, meet at Georgetown Park in Hardieville. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Women’s Labour History Tour: August 29, 7 pm, meet at Lethbridge Courthouse parking lot on 4 Avenue South. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • St. Patrick’s Cemetery Tour, New Stories: September 7, 10 am, meet just outside the Cemetery at the west end of 6 Avenue North. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Chinese Restaurants of the Past: September 22, 2 pm, meet at 1 Avenue and 5 Street South. Public tour. Free. All are welcome.
  • Murders and Crimes of Lethbridge Past: October 5. Members Only Exclusive Tour*

 

*Members Only Exclusive tours are open only to Lethbridge Historical Society members and their invited friends/family or members of other H.S.A. Chapters. Information on Members Only tours will be shared exclusively in the LHS newsletter and in emails to members. LHS memberships may be purchased from the LHS at programs and booths or from the Historical Society of Alberta directly. Go “Join and Give” in the menu above.

 

Public tours are open to all members of the public and are offered free of charge.
